I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (New York, NY) in Dec 2024
Interview
After the phone screening interview, I had a 45min video interview with a design director. The interview was pretty straightforward - about myself, behavioral questions, and quick portfolio review. Make sure to research about their team and typical behavioral question methods.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2021
Interview
The Verizon data analyst interview process typically follows these steps:
Application Submission: Apply through Verizon's career portal or job boards.
Phone Screening: A recruiter contacts you for an initial conversation to discuss your background, skills, and interest in the role.
Technical Interview: This could include a live coding assessment or an online test focusing on SQL, data analysis techniques, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving.
Behavioral Interview: A second-round interview, often with hiring managers, focusing on your past experiences, teamwork, communication, and how you handle challenges. They may ask about specific data analysis projects you've worked on.
Final Interview: This can be in-person or virtual, involving deeper discussions about technical skills, business knowledge, and how you'd contribute to Verizon's team. You may also be asked about industry trends and your ability to work with cross-functional teams.
I had a video call where all three interviewers kept their cameras off, while I was the only one visible. I haven't encountered this in other companies—it felt disrespectful and unprofessional, as if they wanted to dismiss me as quickly as possible.
