I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Houston, TX) in Jun 2009
Interview
It depends on interviewing since a lot of that is not truly done when hiring within the communication community. If you go thru more than one interview, you may have as much as three. Sometimes that's done by a manger and or district manager.
They ask the standard questions: tell me about a time when this and that happened and how did you handle it. Sometimes they may want you to pitch a sale about anything, like maybe a pen.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There isn't a true format they use, so it really depends on the interviewer. But it's a very cliche way of interviewing. You can easily google what do retail manager normally ask of a person in an interview. You will see a lot of the same questions.
One hour interview; half hour spent with technical staffers, other half hour with HR rep. Technical questions included describing past experiences and projects, no coding questions. HR questions included leadership and how you work in a team.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Grand Rapids, MI) in Feb 2013
Interview
Well, let me just say, I never made it to the phone interview because I was stood up by the recruiter TWICE. The first time was understandable, I get it, things happen. So the recruiter called me an hour after my time slot and apologized and to see if we could reschedule (which we did for the very next day in the morning and I confirmed the time). So I am all prepared for the interview the next day and then 5, 10, 15, and 20 minutes go by and no call! Never received the call. I was/am very annoyed as it was not respecting my time. If they do end up calling me - I'm not interested.
