Verizon Sr Project Manager interview questions

The hiring process was long and tedious. There was a change in the recruiters. It took several months to find out if I received the offer. The Manager was swamped with projects.

Although I didn't fit all their job specs perfectly, I did get to have a 15 minute phone interview. I thought I had failed the phone interview but was surprised to get an in-person interview with initially with both my potential supervisor and a co-worker (who didn't ask any questions). The potential co-worker left and then it was just one-on-one. I got the impression that I wouldn't get the job because I was missing some experience. Why an in-person interview?
