Pros

- You will get a lot to learn here. - Permanent WFH policy.

Cons

- They don't have many projects. - Can't expect much from promotion and appraisal. - Can fire you anytime if you are on the bench and they don't have any project. - I worked for this company for around 3 years but they were unable to keep me on the bench for 1 month even after 12 days I got a notice that either I can serve a notice period or else I can take immediate release. They can't work with me anymore. My promotion and appraisal were pending for the last 1.8 years and this is what I received in the end.

Pros

- coworkers are smart and friendly - Romanian management supportive and sympathetic - lots of growth opportunities if you land in the right project - some clients give equal control for product development and vision (i.e. client strategic partnership) - financial assistance for participation at tech conferences

Cons

- lost competitive edge some years ago, from boasting of being "employer of choice" to "employer of no choice" - constant turn-over, no desire/solution for retention of competent engineers resulting of a growing sea of mediocrity - some clients just want staff augmentation (you'll be despised by the client's Dev team and treated badly) - limited growth if you land in the wrong project - promotions are not based on merit but on billing for the client - US management and leadership competence is questionable, with dubious ideas (i.e. fluid workforce, war on free candy) - every year we get a new "CTO" who nobody knows what this person does

3Pillar Global Response

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to making 3Pillar Global a place that fosters development and growth both for our employees and our clients. One of the things that drives this is becoming strategic partners for our clients. To achieve it we promote “product mindset” as a core component in our working culture. We realize that getting to the strategic stage is usually a journey. Not all client relationships are there yet, and we are highly appreciative of our teams for the continuous and consistent effort to get us there. Change has indeed been a strong tide in our decisions during the past years, whether these have been changes at management level, restructuring teams or the launch of new company strategies - they all have been designed to help navigate us through to the next stage in scaling our business. While we do gather from your feedback that sometimes this can look and feel inconsistent, this can teach us that we need to create more transparency, more iterative communication and more attention to individual heads up and reviews in terms of employee and company well-being. We would really appreciate it if you reached out so we can further discuss all the points addressed and tackle them directly, especially because you are still giving us the credit to work with us.

Humans Are Fungible

Pros

The salaries are relatively high and the benefits good. The environment is relatively laid back, at least in the US office. Work/Life balance is relatively good and the company is family-friendly.

Cons

3Pillar Global sometime seems true to its 'body shop' roots and many employees are seen as a necessary evil or fungible, especially those in non-revenue producing positions. A number of senior employees are devoutly religious and the religious overtones echo throughout the company to a degree that can be awkward for someone who doesn't generally share their views. Management seems at times to be flailing about and more interested in the idea of managing a business than actually managing it. There is inexplicable and disturbing turnover in the ranks of senior management.
