Pros

After you leave or get laid off from, AECOM, any job will feel like the best job in the world. You will have a new unbelievable outlook on how great life is not working for this company. Flexible schedule

Cons

No training, no mentoring, constant layoffs, employees are constantly in fear of losing jobs, bureaucracy ,incompetent clueless management, ISO quality certification process is a joke, saw so many garbage submittal's sent out with hardly any QC and poor coordination. If you are a woman or minority, then you will have a very hard time here, struggle, and eventually quit in frustration due to lack of equal treatment. In my office, I saw too often, bright young eager women or minority employees come to work here, and slowly had their hopes and dreams crushed. Faced with prejudice, subtle bias, lack of communication and support from superiors and coworkers, lack of recognition. It was a truly awful place from the first day to the last. If you are a white male and do the bare minimum, you will have more opportunities, be favored, supported, be treated much less harshly, not have to deal with bias and get promoted faster.

Pros

Great colleagues and coworkers. Cultural Diversity.

Cons

- Pathetic bosses - Unbearable politics - Inept CEO - Lack of proper vision that takes the employees into consideration - Hire and fire policy (does not understand the concept of employee retention) - No promotions for years...prefers to hire people from outside instead of promoting people internally. - Policies and procedures are very weak and poorly written compared to other similar companies I have worked for. - Received one bare minimum payhike in the four years I was there, while the company grew from $6B to $8B in annual revenues. And I may not have been the best performer but I was not a slacker either. - My boss earned more than three times of what i earned and did not have even half the skills i possessed. He learnt things from me and presented to the sr. management and consistently took credit for my work. He was also abusive and unethical in his work practices. - I did one annual performance review in the four years I was there. There was no emphasis on performance reviews or employee retention. - Acquires companies nonstop but lacks the skills to integrate them properly. - The company is top ranked in all major areas of its business but internally it is a HUGE mess! - Under appreciated colleagues and co-workers despite all the efforts they put in. - No growth opportunities even for exemplary performers.

Opportunities to work on great projects

Cons

You are a number, not a person Lots of middle managers fighting to keep their jobs and laying off good people to do it Lack of integrity on part of management The company is so big you wonder if anyone really knows what is going on there.
