Pros

Learn skills quickly as more and more responsibility it put on you because you can do the work of a more experienced person but they won't pay you like one.

Cons

Pretty much everything. Terrible pay, terrible hours, integration with URS is non existent. Morale was very low when I left. Majority of skilled people left due to very poor pay. Expected to work hours for free. Overtime is not paid at an overtime rate its flat rate. This was spread across all departments. My department had a very high turn over of staff due to poor conditions.

Pros

Having a job is better than no job at all. A good place for young engineers to learn about the business, and move on to more progressive smaller firms for a real career. Really good core values – but only on paper. The company is anything but agile, prioritizes not the client but bottom line profit, valuing not the employee but the value they can squeeze out. The firm seems to be run by few too many “corporate cardinals” awfully concerned with saving a dollar off admin assistants and lavishly overplayed top executives.

Cons

All the emphasis on immediate revenue, no long term vision. Lost some of the brightest professionals in the industry. Procrastination should be AECOM’s alias.

Pros

There are some good people there, though not many. In the time i was there they lst everyone who had an actual technical understanding.

Cons

Where to start? Management who got where they are by sucking up have instilled an environment of sucking up. This has come from the very top. Right now they go on about leadership and management but fail to look up to technical excellence. The head man is an accountant who has led an acquisition style growth model, accruing debt and alienating individuals. The capture of URS has been mooted as genius, well provided URSs recent oil and gas servicing contract arm continues to grow, It Defense contracts stop falling to pieces, its decision to jump in to the middle east is not a case of jumping into late in to a revenue constrained over saturated market and its ability to avoid being sued as it is in Brisbane due to poor performance and criminal negligence is stopped, it should be great. If you want to learn your profession avoid, if you want to suck up join
