Pros

The people are great. Easy to work with, courteous and down to earth. Absolutely hated to leave--had to for family reasons.

Cons

I only wish they would have made an office location in northern New England more available so I could have stayed with the company.

Pros

Global company. Many business lines.

Cons

No communication from upper management except corporate platitudes and stiffling bureaucratic rules. Corporate strategy of constantly buying companies and then burning them. Despite several years and many, many acquisitions, still clueless on how to actually integrate purchased businesses into the firm - you would think the C-level would have learned by now just through shear repitition. A strategy of buying everything and growing too big to fail. Proven track record of dismantling successful firms they've acquired. I'll let you guess where this leaves the average employee and what the employees long-term prospects are....

Pros

Opportunities to work all over the world. Internal career mobility seems to be encouraged across business lines and departments (balanced matrix organizational structure). Size and breadth of organization provide amazing scope and quality of resources. Senior Management is extremely focussed on taking a leadership position in advancing the global agenda to address climate change.

Cons

Access to management can be difficult. Most information comes from senior management via email and the company intranet. AECOM has been absorbing smaller companies in recent years. This means company culture is not uniformly present - typically referred to as "growing pains". The professionalism and leadership of senior management hasn't trickled down to the lower levels yet. I'm confident this will improve with time. Senior Management seems obsessed with taking a leadership position in advancing the global agenda to address climate change.
