Pros

Ha ha! It's hard to say anything positive about a company that treats employees so poorly and has their PR machine writing phoney reviews on Glassdoor. Some of my colleagues were nice but they ultimately fled.

Cons

A while ago AECOM had a Glassdoor rating of 2.6 and was rated one of the worst companies to work for. Enter the PR people doing damage control by writing a heap of obviously false five star reviews and the company rating is suddenly up to 3.4. Who do they think they are fooling? Instead of listening to people's complaints and taking positive action they write false reviews in a pathetic attempt to hide the truth. Who else would tell the management idiots to "Keep up the good work"? Seriously! Don't be lured into this company by their slick marketing. You'll end up feeling like a slave in a mine run by Daleks.

Pros

Opportunities abound at AECOM, for those willing to assert themselves and stand out among the now 100,000 employees. This company has the depth and breadth to win and succeed with managing major marquis projects across the globe. Internal communications and networking tools keep employees connected with each other and our leadership teams. Leadership takes stake in the engagement and satisfaction of their employees, and are currently working diligently to address "improvement opportunities" identified in the 2015 Employee Survey, which received excellent participation.

Cons

It's been almost a year since the announcement of the URS acquisition, and as a legacy employee of a 2011 URS acquisition, I think the transition has gone comparatively well, considering the magnitude. That said, it's a tough time for management now, and stress on middle-managers to maintain project efficiency during an administratively burdensome period is high. It's a bottom-line world, but I think we can strike a better balance with Work/Life as well as employee compensation. Hoping we'll all be better for it once the growing pains run their course.

Pros

AECOM is largest engineering design firm in the world. With that title comes opportunities to work on projects that smaller firms cant touch. Benefits are OK but would expect better for company of this size. Talented people remain in some offices but many have left or been laid off.

Cons

A revolving door of senior managers and other leaders in the company. No long term vision, business decisions are based on making next quarter numbers because public traded. The company makes rash misguided decisions regarding staff layoffs just to meet numbers to please investors. When you throw 30 company cultures into a cage what you get is AECOM chaos. Integration of legacy companies has not gone smoothly there is still internal backstabbing, no collaboration and mistrust between managers and staff of legacy companies.
