Pros

Engineers are directly dumped into projects and onsite activities. Learning things the hard way is good experience

Cons

The AECOM office in New Orleans was a part of URS corp. which was bought by AECOM. This office is hopeless with Pathetic department management. The manager used to harass and demand respect. His stupidity costed a lot of jobs in the company but he still survives there. No place for internationals, a colleague of mine was super ill treated and intentionally harassed and the management made sure he was laid off and he had to move back to his country. No team work, all employees are scared and only survivors are people who lick the managers arm pit. The manager openly says that he will only keep people who he likes. Hard work has no value. A few technically incompetent, insecure people in management positions running the floor. No respect for people and their work. Almost no growth unless u kiss the bosses armpit. The worst place I have worked and anyone could work. Think twice before working here.

Sacramento - Terrible

Pros

Opportunities to work on types and sizes of projects few other firms can provide - these look great on resumes. A fantastic place to work if you live for your career and nothing else.

Cons

I can't speak as to the situation at other AECOM offices but the cons at Sacramento are too many to list. Worked there when it was still EDAW which was a company we were all very proud of. AECOM, in its infinite wisdom fixed what wasn't broken and the office rapidly became a revolving door of highly qualified people seeing the trend and getting out or being shown the door for not being "team players". Issues have only been compounded by current management if it can even be referred to as such. Advice to prospective employees - look elsewhere. You can't possibly be this desperate.

Pros

Great people that were acquired from URS

Cons

Company is a clusterduck! If you can work in a straight jacket you'll appreciate having hands tied behind back
