Pros

Good life/work balance. Large multi-national company and global telecommunications provider. Well oiled internal staff management.

Cons

Not enough interaction with colleague in the office, limited opportunities for international assignments, less opportunities in the UK as emphasis on resourcing from cheaper cost centres (e.g. India or Eastern Europe)

Pros

Good Union Bargained Pay, Employer Provided Tools & Equipment, Excellent Internal Record Keeping, Fortune 500 Company, (it's hard to come up with the 20 word minimum of "pros")

Cons

Nearly every employee within the company who works in the field or in the centers has been subjected to at least one intentional form of coercion, harassment, intimidation, threatening behavior/gestures, physical violence, non-verbal innuendo or other forms of abuse in the workplace. Hundreds and hundreds violations of rights have been filed with several different Federal, State & Local agencies over the years and the amount has increased in recent years at an alarming rate. Not only does AT&T abuse their own employees in the 'craft' portion of the business, but lower, middle and upper management receive the same treatment at times as well. If you are looking for a job where you can report to on a daily basis and feel belittled and that your worth is of nothing to the overall picture - AT&T is your 'go to' company. If you have a mindset that anyone who is a subordinate employee is incapable of success, call AT&T HR and apply for a management position as soon as possible. If you are sick and tired of being treated horribly and have had enough of AT&T's abuse join the community of thousands of people including active and former employees, authors, radio hosts, bloggers and other employees at AT&T's competitors who have been saying "Enough is Enough" -- IF you are a customer, please join in too!

Pros

It can be a great and interesting career. It all depends on what you want to make of your job.

Cons

Company management loyalty to employees is sporadic. They outsource in parts of AT&T with no thought to moving the outsourced employees to other parts of the company.
