      Less opportunities for part time staff members to avail of benefits A lot of teachers pets Not a lot of opportunism for progression

      Pros

      Secure employer, OK pay to begin with, plenty of secondment/development opportunities, modern IT systems, close-knit teams enable lots of face to face interaction

      Cons

      Pay scales are all over the place and clear as mud - people within the same Claims unit on several different scales but all doing the same job! Can also be difficult to gain the experience needed to get into a secondment position.
