Pros

I’ve had the unique experience of working with Acciona across two different regions — starting in Southeast Asia and then making the transition to North America — and it’s been a game-changer for my career. In Southeast Asia, I was exposed to complex infrastructure and energy projects, which gave me a solid foundation and hands-on experience. The teams there were collaborative, and I always felt proud to contribute to work that had a lasting impact on communities. The move to Acciona North America was a significant turning point for me. Not only did I find better opportunities for advancement, but I also noticed a more dynamic work culture, with clearer pathways for professional development. There’s a stronger emphasis on merit, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership development, which really aligns with the kind of environment I thrive in. I also appreciate the diversity and inclusion efforts more in the North American setup, where new ideas and global perspectives are genuinely welcomed. The compensation and benefits are more competitive too, and I’ve found the work-life balance to be healthier, especially with the flexibility around family responsibilities.

Cons

In Southeast Asia, I did find that career growth felt somewhat limited, and the structure was more traditional — promotions often depended on tenure and connections rather than performance or innovation. And in North America, of course, no place is perfect. Like any large organization, there are still some internal processes that could be improved — some systems feel outdated and can slow things down. But overall, the level of professionalism, project scale, and growth support I’ve experienced here in North America has made the move well worth it.
