Pros

The name looks good on the CV.

Cons

New hires usually leave in less than a year because the atmosphere is toxic. Two reasons: 1- The team leaders and the manager are unprepared, continuously gossiping, and don't know how to do their job or manage people. It's mostly the fault of those who put them in charge. Human Resources are also part of the problem: they know what's going on but they do nothing, even if you report a problem to them. 2- You can't give the best of yourself or try to improve things because you will end up doing the same useless repetitive tasks that could be avoided with good software (or a good team leader). The computer systems are very slow and old, almost prehistoric; and they crash very often. I wouldn't recommend working here if you are in your 20's. There are plenty of good companies in Dublin where you can grow, be creative, learn and build good and healthy professional relationships! Good luck with your job search!

Pros

It pays a wage on time, annual Christmas party with free bar until around 2am.

Cons

There is on going bullying across all departments at AWC, HR clearly ignores it and tries to brush it under the carpet. I worked there for a year and a half so I've given the company long enough to show their benefits but I've given up after the manager aggressively pushed me off the edge. As soon as they hear you are leaving management ignores you for the whole period notice. Company notice period policy is 2 months thus it is hard for you to find another role quickly. They make you do the whole 2 months notice even if you have holidays left to take. They try and make it out they provide lots of training but they make it clear that you have to sign a contract in agreement to stay longer in the company to repay that benefit or that they will take every cent off your last wage. They advertise other job opportunities across the other departments but they will not let you go to the other departments if you are good at what you do already. They will fail your interview and say you don't have the necessary expertise to do the job. They have a "subsidised canteen" but its not much cheaper than the spar across the road. There is nothing around the area except a Spar and a gym in which you have to pay for almost full price. They offer a 10% discount but the gym membership is higher than other gyms around the area anyway. Pregnancy is frowned upon, as soon as they hear you are pregnant you are ignored for the rest of the time you are there until you leave for maternity. They don't pay maternity unless you are 3 years permanent in the company. And only pay twice. Be prepared if you plan to have 3 kids while working for them. They will not pay you after second time. Overtime is common - no appreciation for working overtime but you do it in order to complete the task, no flexible time is allowed across board. Flexi/shift time only applies to Claims/Helpline department. you don't want to work for that department it's robotic.

Pros

Good salary -vhi-nice people - Good job to have while you look for new job

Cons

Everybody is leaving because of power hungry, micro minagement team leader. Everyone I know is actively looking for a job. Team leader with no skills to work with people. Team leader who bullies you to make them feel powerful.
