Pros

Salary, name in your cv

Cons

Horrible office, lack of leadership, any creative thinking is shouted down, too much arrogance from managenent that their way is the correct way, people are allowed to get away with bullying, people are promoted way above their ability based on either brown nosing management or by trying to get other people in to trouble, archaic systems. The worst place I've ever worked, including my part time college job cleaning toilets!

Cons

PM was once managed my management who acted with utmost professionalism and demnostrated integrity at all times. unfortunatley those days are long gone. New management have taken over and PM has lost all these values and so much more. this department was once filled with bubbly enthusiastic officers who were full of ideas to improve the department. that environment died when the new management entered the dept. PM is now ruled with an autocratic fist. the new daily phrase coming from senior management is "managed out". senior management pride themselves on managing officers out of the department that are on their hit list. the hit list is a list of officers that senior management deem unfit to work in the department any longer. only this week we lost a young officer as a result of this practice. Gossiping is encourgaed and initiated from the very head of the department down. senior management openly gossip with senior officers who they are friends with about other officers and tls. comments are passed often via email from senior mangement to the senior officers insulting other officers. bullying is rampant. here are some examples of the daily bullying tactics.making hurtful comments about the way officers are dressed via email = bullying, gossiping about officers = bullying, giving officers the silent treatment = bullying. its sad to see so many good officers afraid to lift their heads for fear they will be the next target on the hit list. morale is has hit rock bottom and we all work in fear of being the next one to be "managed out". if we discover an error or problem, senior management dont ask how can we fix this, what can we do to ensure it doesnt happen again, how can we learn from this, how can we improve our service.... no all senior managment care about is WHO is responsible,. they then will be added to the hit list.

Pros

See Cons, I have had it with sharing the pros in previous reviews.. the cons need to be reviewed by HR and solved.

Cons

I have been at AWC for over five plus years, having moved around and worked in different areas, I remember the day when I arrived in GMC as it was known then or Pol Man now. It was like never land, excellent management, amazing training team, great workmates, and the list goes on, people actually gave free time to complete work or close a case, as management respected them. It was the place for me to develop and grow due to several Portuguese speaking team leaders and supervisors. Nowadays it is a different sorry, it breaks my heart to hear that a young Boy is being bullied out of the company by senior management in Policy Management. It breaks my heart to see a team being dissolved and people being forced to different departments on lower salaries, been asked to do the work of a job that they are not paid for or contracted for and when they can't do the job that they are put on performance plans, where they have to justify every action and eventually are forced to quit due to unrealistic targets. Departments being closed, staff let go to allow room for outsourcing. Promotions only on the basis of who is the man woman's friend. There are facebook messages and photographs to prove this. Management turning a blind eye to all this bullying and going ahead with AES, where people know that there comments can be seen by management. Not private or anonymous in any way The bullying nature has been around now for sometime but once HR used to investigate now they run to the line manager, what if my issue or if i witnessed an issue of harassment regarding my line manager and HR went to him or her before coming back to me, I don't know how this solves issues. And now team leaders themselves are having issues with Middle management and middle management dont ant them to go to HR or ask for minutes after a meeting between the employer and the HR department. Emails being transferred expired and this being used as excuses for people to be let go.
