Was hired in Bad Homburg but not a German speaker which was incredibly challenging. Before I was hired everything was happy days and all sounded so good but once hired HR seemed like enemy number 1. There are people in HR who don't speak English, it was so hard to get answers to the questions you have. Everything you needed to know you had to find out for yourself. Some managers allowed working from home some did not, not at all aligned which creates an atmosphere of envy and resentment, I even experienced an argument over a screen, all so petty and people seemed so insecure. Biggest problem management - aloof and arrogant and you feel totally detached from decisions made, strategy and way forward. You keep hearing "we are the biggest anyway so it really doesn't matter when and what we deliver" very depressing. I would not recommend anyone to work there.

This workplace is like a satire of what can go wrong in corporate management. Mediocrity is rewarded and people have to become mindless cheerleaders to survive. Usability is lowest priority in Amadeus products because there is a market monopoly, and it’s very difficult to make an impact if you’re ambitious. If middle management do anything at all, they will always add layers of complex processes, they never make anything simpler. I’m currently in an Agile team with daily stand ups with people who are working on different projects and products than me. We share no interdepencies but we have to listen to each other every day. Completely bizarre and not agile at all. I’m surprised by the recent 5 star reviews because employee satisfaction is currently at 16/100 according to the most recent survey. People are very unhappy in this workplace and complain about management all the time.
