Pros

Amazon has the most solid company structure I've seen. The leadership principles act as a compass for pretty much everything, even everyday life outside Amazon. My experience in Amazon Mexico is that innovation is still a bit tethered to the core business' growth (expected). Newly launched countries normally take around 5 years to take off and then start to truly innovate with riskier bets. Data drives all decisions. I had no idea what "data driven" meant until I joined Amazon. My ability to analyze and dive deeper into data in order to find solutions has grown exponentially in 2 years. The company's stock has risen like foam through the years, which is specially good when a part of your income comes from RSUs.

Cons

I find bureaucratic processes to get in the way of moving forward more than I expected. We have many mechanisms to escalate and resolve, but some processes get dragged on for longer that i would like. Amazon culture is a bit cutthroat, not everybody adapts to the fast pace of the business and receiving call outs in a constant basis. This translates to a high attrition rate, which in turn lowers morale.

Pros

High demanding company, excellent school to learn and be proficiency in skills such as analytics, SQL, negotiation and prioritization.

Cons

Really bad leadership, only focus on results and not in people. Works a lot of extra hours without a payoff ( average time to be promoted es 3 years and average yearly increase of salary is 2%). Not a psychological safety place to work.
