Pros

Flexibility is for sure the strength, although this has changed in the last few years post pandemic. If you like ambiguity and working on something new every month or so, this is the place for you.

Cons

There is absolutely no way of giving feedback for a manager (and I've been one), what usually happens is they are promoted because of something their direct reports actually worked on, but you have no say in this at all. Forced RTO was taken very badly and there was no way to compromise unless you were able to somehow get a medical exception. The people who actually get a promotion in amazon are not necessarily the worthy ones, but the ones that are willing to put up with senior leadership and "play the part". Hard working people are kept at the bottom because otherwise who's doing the actual work, really?
