Be ready to get laid off

Business Outlook

Pros

Performance doesn't matter because lay-offs are constant and happen regardless of performance.

Cons

Anxiety, zero incentive to make long-term improvements because there is no reason to believe you'll be in that position, or even in the company at that point, so everything is scraped together and functions only just enough to get by but is a huge pain. Even if you make an improvement, the one person replacing you and three other people in the near future won't have any way to know you made an improvement and will have to reinvent a system from scratch again anyway.
