However, this is hidden code to describe a organization that’s that thrives on dysfunctional internal competition, narcissism, and passive aggressive behaviors that’s driven top down from leadership. Process based roles are not valued at Amex; This include scrum master, RTEs, project manager, portfolio managers. I would rate career growth 1 on a scale of 1- 10 for these type roles regardless of level. Management despise agile data and metrics that limits their ability to own the true performance narrative. Product and technology Delivery commitments/dates are use rarely meet as a result of mismanagement and over commitment of scrum teams and agile release trains capacity. This is driven by senior department leadership.

I could write a novel on the cons. I was hired as an engineer, but I haven't written code longer than five lines since I started here. As mentioned in other reviews, AMEX is not a place to grow your skills, but a place to get complacent and cash checks. If you're eager to learn, grow, and do amazing things, keep looking. This is not the place for growth. If you're close to retiring and want to put your feet up on your desk for 7.5 hours a day, welcome aboard.
