Pros

coworkers share good values, pay is decent

Cons

high turnover due to exhausting work conditions (severe weather, pressure to meet quota), lots of in-fighting, management doesn't recognize employees' individual talents for growth outside of canvassing

Pros

The organization does great work and this position helps attain funding for that work as well as inform and mobilize concerned people in the fight for human rights.

Cons

You essentially have to harass and shake people down for money to meet steep sign up quotas and because of these quotas there is little job security. Also, the starting wage is $13/hr for two weeks of "training" , if you make it that far, which is not always made clear by the people doing the hiring. If you don't meet the first quota in the first three days of canvassing you lose the job, another thing not always outlined in interviews.
