Pros

If you are interested in human rights, the content could salvage the position.

Cons

As an intern, they tend to utilize you as bodies in the room to support certain initiatives or protests organized by Amnesty. Also, the latent competitiveness between employees seemed at odds with an organization where all the employees professed to be altruists.

Pros

Everyone is extremely passionate about the campaigns they're working on. You will be working with some of the brightest people, and everyone is truly determined to make a difference.

Cons

Living in DC with a small stipend was expensive. Understandably, as a nonprofit it's difficult to find the funds; however, I do think it would have made the whole experience a bit easier, financially.
