Pros

A lot of great, passionate young people; friendly atmosphere. Interns are very involved with day-to-day operations, they basically run one of the programs. Good valuable experience overall.

Cons

Gender-bias and unprofessional behavior. Departments through each other under the bus and then admitted it with no shame. They treat interns as a disposable garbage.

What a waste

Pros

Most of the employees really care about the campaigns they work on. The grassroots membership is also inspiring and motivated. You can play a bigger role in coalitions because Amnesty's name carries a lot of weight.

Cons

Leadership atrocious. Total bloodbath of layoffs while I was there while the Exec Director got a bonus. Some departments suffered under hostile management and bled talent as a result. There were several strategic changes in the organization's "mission" over a short period of time but no real plan forward.
