Pros

Large company that will help develop and help you start your career. You get a chance to meet top level people, interact with clients and go on visits to learn about the industry. They pay for insurance training and best of all have great programs to build skill sets

Cons

bureaucratic, pigeon holding, and stingy on pay as they try to increase shareholder value. They have lay offed folks, sold divisions, and forced resignation of some people.

Pros

One of the primary reasons to work at Aon is its pivotal brand name within the Insurance industry. It's certainly a great resume builder. It's a great place to gain experience, as a number of opportunities exist to learn from industry veterans with 20-30+ years of experience.

Cons

Insurance is still a primarily male dominated good old boys club. Secondly, each office has its own culture and environment. Two people with the same title in Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA for example, can have varying job titles, responsibilities, and roles. Also, job growth and advancement is more dependent on personality, and who you work for, more then what you know and technical abilities.
