Really good company but.....

Pros

We probably have one of the best tech products on offer from the Valley and certainly the best in the APM space. If you want to sell to Enterprises with amazing technology that actually works then this is the place for you. The new CEO is very intelligent and his direct reports across Field Ops, Legal, and Product are about as smart as they come. Many of the people here are great to work with and are very friendly.

Cons

It's not fair to generalize about an entire company like other posts do but there are a few bad apples here that will ruin the bunch if we aren't careful. AppDynamics is basically BMC with a different logo. The VP management style is .... well lets say 'abrasive'. If you don't mind being pushed around then you will have no problem (they think it's leadership). The top execs preach values, which everyone believes in, yet on the ground you operate in a fiefdom which is a world unto itself. You absolutely have to pledge allegiance to the process and if you don't kiss the ring it's not pleasant. At this regional level it's political and they will kick you to the curb very quickly no matter who you are. HR policy is different to what really happens. Of course there is an open door policy; so long as you bow before you enter.

Our multiple rounds of interviews and hiring manager screenings not only assesses technical skills, but also screens for personality to see how well a candidate would work with the existing team. Mixed Bag

Pros

There are great perks such as food, chair massage and a lot of happy hours. It's also an exciting atmosphere to be part of a company doing so well.

Cons

Rude, entitled people, unprofessional management/HR & upward movement is a joke. Very wasteful use of money. I honestly don't know how they are doing so well.

Pros

CISCO benefits are very good.

Cons

Under CISCO and new AppD leadership, the old AppD is gone. Current leadership don't qualify to lead. Most of them don't know what they are doing. Too many white males with big egos. Culture does not always focus on all employee development and engagement. No control of your career. Little to no raise or bonus unless you are in Sales.
