Pros

I have worked with Appirio for more than 4 years. This is without a doubt, the best place I have ever worked. Employees have direct access to senior management and the ability to shape their own experience. The company has a very rigorous interview processes and the result is top notch people both personally and professionally. The work is challenging and the demands are high, but you've got a great team backing you up. This company knows how to have fun and work hard.

Cons

Appirio is a rapidly growing company that is full of very experienced and enthusiastic professionals. Often we have to adapt to changing processes and step up to help out on assignments that may not be in our particular sweet spot. If you're someone who needs to be managed, told where you should focus, or have daily contact with your supervisor, this may not be a good fit.

Highs and Lows

Pros

You get to work with top talent in the industry Good name on your resume Great technology and tools to help you get your job done Total transparency in seeking solutions to technical problems The most senior people are incredibly gracious and wonderful to be around Fun company outing once a year An opportunity to work on ground-breaking projects Very social and fun team with many philanthropic interests

Cons

If you are a rockstar at your current company here you will just be one of the crowd Definitely an inside track for a very select few - don't move for potential career enhancement it is unlikely to happen Kiss goodbye to attending any outside training or conferences People are people wherever; just hope you don't get stuck on a project with one of the jaw-droppingly lazy, sloppy, inefficient consultants who claim "this just isn't' my best fit on a project" and you have to clean up behind them There is a creeping culture of keeping secrets on projects so you could end up taking the fall when you really just needed to be able to ask for help If you are happy with your current job keep it - you will find life very up and down here One mistake and your name and reputation is mud

Pros

Awesome Benefits Pay is good Send you to a top rated resort for the yearly conference Good Vacation policy HR

Cons

Delivery Managers claim to listen, but could care less about what you tell them. In one ear and out the other. A lot of the Project Manager's are not very nice people. They are very arrogant and full of themselves. They will throw you under the bus to make themselves look better Company culture is not at all what I was sold on by HR. Very much an "in it for yourself" type organization. A lot of internal complaints by the current consultants. Many of them wished they had never left their previous position. Truly a services company. Their "assets" aren't worth anything what they think they are. A company that has never made a profit but spends money like they do. Senior management thinks a lot of themselves. The yearly trip to Califonia's wine country is just to make themselves feel good. Any kind of "training" could be done in a 3 hour online session. The "shares" they give you when you start are not worth anything at all. The investors are the ones who are going to make money when they go public.
