Pros

- Transparent culture - Yearly conference was cool - Interesting and challenging work - Some really great people

Cons

- If you're not in corporate office, then good luck getting noticed - Lack of career advancement - I took a pay cut for this job, which I'll never forgive myself for - Way too much travel - Most clients are large Fortune 500 companies, which means projects never end and you get burned out! - Way too many hours. I usually billed over 40 hours/week plus there was extra work for internal groups. I felt like I was always working and couldn't escape. - A vast majority of consultants hired had no previous experience in these applications; thus, those of us who did have extensive experience ended up picking up the slack

Pros

Flexibility, positive culture, smart co-workers, good work/life balance.

Cons

The learning curve can be STEEP and they kind of just throw you into the deep end. Being a new-ish company, they don't have the established onboarding processes of the larger consulting firms, so it's a lot more on-the-job training. This helps you get up to speed, but the pressure can be very high at first. Working from home is great - sometimes. I admit that I miss the office atmosphere on occasion.

Pros

You get to work from home, the culture at he ground floor is great, and you'll almost certainly get to work near the center of IT at large, well-known companies. The networking alone, both with Appirio consultants and with clients, might make working here for a couple years worthwhile.

Cons

The usual growing pains, including unaccountable middle management, stack ranking leading to demotivation of great employees, lack of recognition (read: spot compensation) for work well done. Internal competition lead to many great performers feeling that there's no point in trying. A clique of "golden children" at the middle-management level are perceived as untouchable, and feed their own image, while not spreading credit around where it's deserved.
