Pros

Got lucky and had a great supervisor and co-workers. We all came together and supported each other during the dog days of Covid.

Cons

Our department had a heavy reliance on technology, initially, problems would be resolved with great efficiency until massive layoffs in local states, and next thing you know outsourcing IT to India. The once 15 min fix turned into 4 hours with a person that could barely understand. The job cuts just kept coming, then a hiring freeze, then suddenly, the majority of the nurses' department was given a 30-day layoff notice only leaving a handful of us with no clear plan on how we will have the nurse power to provide support.

Pros

Coworkers, Shift differential, CEU opportunities

Cons

Management, Benefits including quality of insurance, extortion on which pharmacy you may use, it takes 6 weeks to accrue 12 hours (1 day) off. Management cares more about $$ than staff safety. Nepotism galore!!!

Pros

When I first started it was about making a difference in the lives of the patients and the associates, greeting everyone from housekeeping to CEO and of course the Daughters of Charity, if a associate needed help the group as a whole St. Vincent's family were there for you, HR would be there when a displaced associate to help you and the team find another positions within the company

Cons

It's about the money, not making a difference, Senior leadership does NOT care about the worker bees - the associates who keep the doors open, they can find someone who is less experienced for less money and get larger salaries/bonuses for themselves, now they say don't let the door hit you on the way out
