HAH. Twenty word minimum and I can't think of a good thing to say. OOH we have really nice expensive garbage cans.

Cons

They can't pay us well because they bought really nice expensive garbage cans.

Pros

The people I worked with. Not on the Ascension level, on the hospital level. The people in my department were amazing and helped make working for an awful company like Ascension tolerable.

Cons

Where do I start? 1. They spend too much money 2. They use outdated software and business practices that create ridiculous amounts of work. A simple process becomes so complicated you’ll want to throw pencils at the ceiling because that’s more stimulating. 3. They aren’t really Catholic. They are pretending to be Catholic. I’m not Catholic either but I wasn’t pretending to be Catholic to make a ton of money. 4. They will fire good people and replace them with ineffective automated services. 5. They will fire good people and replace them with untrained people in call-centers. It’s not the MSC’s fault that Ascension is a piece of garbage though, don’t be mean to the MSC employees. They aren’t the big talking heads making all the idiotic decisions. I could go on. Ascension is like that predatory fish waving it’s pretty flashy light in front of you starving face. You think you’re about to eat but instead it eats you. If your hospital is profitable, it won’t be anymore. If it was going under you might have a different experience....but my hospital was better off before Ascension got its greedy fingers involved.

Pros

Its a paycheck; co-workers are very nice; residents are very sweet; many jobs that you can transfer into and learn many functions in the ministry;benefits are ok if you don't have a chronic disease;

Cons

ASL Corporate Staff make knee-jerk decisions w/o thinking about chaos that it will cause the staff; Corporate Staff make decisions based off of your appearance vs. work performance; the President/CEO came to our facility and wouldn't even take a photo with the staff and got rude when asked to; Not paid for the amount of work that is expected; hostile work environment due to not ever sure if you will be fired next; ASL Chief Nursing Officer's highest level of education/credential is RN; Corporate Staff do not lead by example; they try not to use Agency Staff but do not have enough staff of their own which results in safety events; no on boarding process/program for any of the positions at ASL; not giving the tools needed to perform your job as expected;
