Pros

1. I had a lot of flexibility. 2. I had a great hands-off supervisor 3. I could work from home (AIS not the Resource Group) 4. Can't beat 22 days PTO to start 5. Great health benefits if you stay with an Ascension provider - low co-pays and deductions from your check. 6. Good 401K(non-profit form) match 7. Lots of good people here

Cons

Most of the religious leadership has retired and/or been replaced by business people. Beginning in 2012, things began to change. The pension died. You were seen as less associates who participated in the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension and more a number. Someone who was looked at as overhead. I am no longer qualified for the work I have done for a decade because I don't have an MBA. The Resource Group has an antiquated policy that requires everyone to work in the office and dress up (including ties). Who cares if you your only contact with vendors is by phone. Raises are a standard 2% not matter how good your work is. Not everyone gets bonuses. Directors and above get one based on the work of everyone in their group (15-30%). VPs get 2 bonuses a year. Seems a little much for a non-profit company. Sometimes the lower level people would get thrown a "Success Sharing". I got 2%

One of the most political places I've worked

Pros

I honestly do not have any positives.

Cons

One of the most political companies I've ever worked for, including my years as a consultant. The processes are so antiquated and non value added, yet management is unwilling to try a different way. You have to enter your time in multiple systems, the communication is awful, and they pit employees against one another. Additionally, they monitor every second you spend in the office, even if they don't mention it. If you leave at 4:59, it will be noted. DO NOT WORK HERE. RUN!!!!

Pros

Wellness programs Pay Benefits Not too many pros.

Cons

Significant downsizing They appear to be cutting anyone over 40, and those with significant levels of education. No stability An increasing amount of things are being outsourced
