Lack of good judgement

Pros

Fellow patient care workers are committed to taking good care of our patients.

Cons

Since becoming part of Ascension, decisions about severe cuts are made by those who have no direct knowledge of our facility. The good staff to patient ratios we used to have are what gave us excellent reviews. Ascensions desire to cut to bare bones is going to bring down the quality of care, thus reducing our reputation with the community.

Lost the Mission

Pros

Patients that are served. Used to be the Mission but that isn't being a focus anymore. Now it's acts more like a for profit organization.

Cons

Really an administration that only cares about money and not the people working there or patients. Raises if any only go insurance premium increases and every raise leads to widespread lay offs. Even with layoffs, management gets bonuses. It's a very risk averse organization and fails to innovate. Lots of good old boy management.

Strategic Sourcing (The Resource Group)

Pros

Manger / Director level is committed to training and improvement. The Resource Group only hires top talent.

Cons

Zero opportunity for professional growth and advancement. Executive leadership has changed strategy and direction multiple times within a short time period. Overall, strategy prevents growth. Executive leadership has created an organization that is run on fear. If you voice a concern that opposes leaderships direction, you will be fired! The Resource Group continues to overlook what's best for their customers, the hospital. Rather focus on global growth. Constant favoritism to vendors and the "chosen" unqualified employees.
