Pros

There are no best reasons anymore, other than to say you at least have a job. Ascension destroyed St. Vincent Hospital and any core values they had, and now R1 (a revenue cycle company) is destroying Ascension, although Ascension can't see it...yet.

Cons

I worked there for 27 years until my job was shipped to India. I don't trust them anymore.

Pros

Good amount of time off and good place to work.

Cons

Health care coverage goes down every year and becomes more expensive. Every year my modest raise in pay is chewed up by increased health care coverage costs and deductibles. I stay in the network but it doesn't matter anymmore. Today I just paid $100 copay for a name brand prescription. In 2016 the copay was $40.
