Pros

None, zero, nada, zip, nil.

Cons

I loyally worked for this company for 11-years. I left this company before the wave of redundancies hit. When I left the company did not even give me a $1 farewell card. So much for my loyal service, eh? What a disgrace! You would not even treat a dog in this way. But, I guess that lack of care and consideration is but one of the low-lights of this misshapen company. Honestly, I regret not having left much earlier. This is a dysfunctional company that is top-heavy in uncaring and less than competent management. And let's not even talk about the over-paid, self-indulgent automaton-like directors! And I write this review from first hand experience as I had day to day interactions with all of the top management of this company and its directors. I remember one memorable quote from a director whose response when told that one employee had worked for Connell Wagner / Aurecon for more than 40 years, said: "He must be mad"! Yes, folks, your caring directors' views about you as an employee, are summed up with that one quote. If I can summarise my 11 hellish years with this company - over-worked, lack of support, lack of career opportunities, lack of recognition, lack of appreciation, a masculine culture that supports indifference, mediocrity, and bullying of its staff. Still want to work at Aurecon - go ahead, be my guest. But, don't say I didn't warn you. By the way, I had to give this company one star in order that the review could be published.

Pros

Industry average pay or less Good corporate level marketing, if that matters to you Will be publicly listed in a few years, which should wipe out at least some of the dead wood. If you are willing to wait that long.

Cons

Run by management consultants who have never done any technical work in their lives. Underneath the hype and, lets be honest, only semi-glossy exterior, this is as old school an engineering firm as you will find anywhere that can be accessed without a time machine. Aurecon is a great example of how employee ownership can fail - The owners are an increasingly isolated bunch of old men whose only idea to grow and future-proof their company is to charge top dollar for under-resourced skeleton teams, who they think will work their butts off for no rewards and no hope of ever joining the owners club. And who all balk at the idea of doing so if they make it that far, which the good ones don’t...

Pros

Good projects, some good people but they come and go ... churn is incredible and a result of the marketing spin

Cons

Leaders don't listen or engage with clients. At my exit interview the regional leader stated "I don't understand what you do, i don't know whether we should be doing it ..." Clearly disengaged, uninterested, and promoted only because she is a woman. Line Managers don't care - "Just complete you performance goal and we'll talk about them after they're due" ... I spent months with my team during the goal setting period. Regions are Silo'd - Poor Financial Performance - "We offer a minimum 30% return on investment ..." The dividend was at it's lowest level ($5 cf price @$35) when the new CEO started ... Giam Swiegers - After the first year the dividend increased to $6.50 ... The C-Suite were clapping themselves on the back for a marvelous job -" We increased the dividend by 30%, how amazing is that" ... If you speak up an say well that's actually ordinary as it was at $12 2 years ago and other firms are actually providing a 50% return and the economy is booming so you actually haven't done a good job at all ... ?? Offshoring Work - ... Unethical Behaviour - ... Bullying & Harrassment - ...
