Pros

Nice office environment and friendly colleagues. Bosses are mostly willing to listen to employees and provide advice if possible. Limelight committee (for young professionals) is amazing! It gave us so much networking opportunities to meet new colleagues and bosses with their fun events and they also promote CPD courses. Generally company cares about employee's health with monthly happy hours and weekly fruit days. Average annual leaves but no need to take attendance and one day sick leave no need doctor's notes.

Cons

Not competitive pay, only slightly higher than fresh graduates. Supervisors don't not provide enough support to younger staff as everybody is overworked, junior staffs are usually forced to do work and submissions alone which would get lots of scolding. Ot culture is heavy, especially in the mechanical/electric team and the structural team. HR is very slow.

Pros

Civil engineering culture pervades - calm, measured Lots of nice people V interesting work. Some genuinely cool innovation on projects. Much more gender diverse/inclusive than competitors, but more work needed Some great case impacts and eminent experts Great DEI, work life balance and soft benefits (inc flex)

Cons

Civil engineering culture pervades- road/rail is top of pecking order Leadership are mostly Aurecon lifers - partly meritocracy partly patronage (or matronage!). Key issues never get addressed/resolved- tied in knots on who decides what- consensus driven but siloes/ long running cold wars. Offline chats using firm buzz words rather than open conflict/challenge/plain speak Says it wants growth above market rate and no risk. Gets neither. Says it wants to be innovative, but doesnt want anything to ever 'fail' even if its a small project etc. Corporate Support functions tail wags the dog Firm equity not local P&L profit share (everyone comfortable once budget looks like being hit, which is mostly a function of the prevailing market) Internal processes are not good- fails to live up to brand promise
