Pros

Met really good people and could build good friendships.

Cons

Directors showed favouritism to certain employees, while others were not valued. Many good employees have quit, not only in these two Aurecon offices, but elsewhere as well. People don't see themselves staying at Aurecon for a long time. Subtle racism experienced. Unfair treatment of hard working employees. Disrespect from directors, eg. shouting at employees and generally showing little regard for their person. Continually send employees to site but no site allowances or transport and expect employees to find and fund resources themselves. Some directors make it seem like employees have to be so greatful to atleast have employment, which they definitely are, but why not treat employees with dignity and respect?

Pros

Decent facilities, decent location, new (but gaudy) office. Some great people but they never stay long.

Cons

Gone are the glory days of Connell Wagner and other great names that came before Aurecon. Aurecon is essentially a South African company and an Australian company working as two separate entities and trying to convince you that they are global. Let's hope the new CEO can raise this sinking ship! Constantly told "there are no other jobs our there, you're lucky to be here" or "we can easily send your job offshore, we pay them a third of what we pay you". Bullying seems to be accepted as normal, no repercussions for managers but if an employee makes a complaint they're made out to be the one in the wrong. Performance and development is just a box ticking excercise to satisfy manager's KPIs. Development isn't covered in the performance reviews and we are told that "development isn't as important as KPIs". Senior staff often fail to accept responsibility for problems within the business or within projects, very poor management of staff and projects. Excessive working hours with no thanks, can have long stints of working until 1am or 3am and told that it is entirely acceptable. After working overtime, managers always baulk at allowing staff to take time off in lieu. Promotions and payrises are not about how you perform but rather who you suck up to.

Pros

Offers good flexibility work/life balance - well at least my group does. Education scheme is great. Local office management and associates are pretty easy going on a personal level. New office, new computers and improving IT support.

Cons

Very poor business admin systems - find yourself repeating the same info on numerous forms. The admin support is very poor/non existing and they think they are running the company. They claim to be focused on quality; however that's all talk. What their really concerned with is whatever BST spits out. People receiving promotion are the real poor performers - talking about building a bridge is not building a bridge.
