Pros

WH&S policies, new office fitout is great, some great people to work with. I've made good friends while working there. Flexibility to work from home and flexible hours as long as you get the job done.

Cons

P&D is useless and is just a way to fulfill your managers KPIs and advancement, training is useless (and mainly constituted of useless corporate stuff, no technical training at all). No salary raise or bonus while I was there, while our division was doing great with most of the staff doing overtime. We were even requested to take leave without pay when workload was low, however, after doing overtime for the past 6 months due to poor management planning on some difficult projects, no bonus was given. (you need to be rated a 4 during your p&D cycle to get anything, surprise people get rated "3.9"). Can't see any advancement possible if you're not working insane hours and unless you're the CEO best mate!

Pros

Not as big and bad as other engineering consultancies. Seems to be surviving OK so far in variable market.

Cons

Bad location in Docklands. Noisy open plan office with small desks all in one row, no privacy, constant interruptions and distractions and difficult environment to concentrate on work. Everyone is being jammed into already tight space so that another floor can be made vacant for joint venture project. Dark ,depressing interior. Can hardly see in some locations. My boss constantly criticises everything that I and others in the group do and say. The fault finding is relentless and destructive. It is at the stage where we don't even bother trying because whatever we do isn't good enough and no-one can meet his expectiations. Totally sick of it and the effect it has on self-esteem.
