Pros

The best reasons to work at BBVA Bancomer are that you don't really need much experience, they train you for the job for about 3 days. The job is easy, the customers are real nice, most of them atleast. the pay is ok for starting. I liked the job.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Bancomer are that you have to work on weekends. Most managers take advantage of being managers.

Pros

Compass provided a challenging and professional work environment. The staff there was professional to work with and some branches had very much of a team environment. Each branch has its own personality, so it's important to consider the branch atmosphere when considering a position there.

Cons

Compass is very sales oriented, even for the tellers. Specific protocol when answering the phone and talking with customers was in place, and the company sent in mystery shoppers every month, which was a big deal (100% completion = $50 cash). There didn't seem to be a clear path of advancement through the company, and there wasn't much opportunity for professional training or growth.

Pros

The overall compensation package at Compass is favorable compared to the industry average. The best reason to work for Compass is due to the recent acquisition by BBVA. BBVA is an extremely well run organization which invests heavily in its employees. This will create numerous career advancement and professional development opportunities for employees.

Cons

One of the biggest downsides is the lack of communication from upper management. Another downside is the lack of investment in technology. This will all be fixed once BBVA implements their plan in 2009.
