Treat it like a big accounting firm

Pros

BT is similar to any large national accounting firm. Capable at providing audit and tax services. Good technology resources for staff, decent pay, and some highly skilled professionals. Pretty good place to get started, but staying is a different matter.

Cons

BT is similar to any other non Big 4 national firm in many respects. It is still in the process of integrating a bunch of mergers of small and medium regional firms, which is not always smooth. It is a political organization like many of these firms. Compensation is good but not great. Stress levels high on non-executive partners and firm Directors. Low incentives to cooperate across business units and existing compensation structures create competition for revenue generation credit. It is a CPA firm and in the end there will always be an intense and demanding busy season(s).
