Pros

Some of the people were nice, good busy season parties, decent pay

Cons

Busy season hours were 70+ hours per week, offseason was 50+ hours per week, managers were all about protecting their job and would do their best to make you feel like you were worthless, culture was built around drinking, they would pressure you to work more and not record hours

Thank you for this feedback. We wish your experience was more positive. As with any accounting firm, busy season has a unique set of time demands. We understand the effect of the season on work-life balance and continually looking at new tools and policies, such as “Dress for your Day” that make our culture more responsive. We’ll continue to do everything we can to make our workplace as enjoyable as possible including work-life balance and employee recognition programs.

Pros

Summers are generally relaxed and balance out the rigors of a long busy season. High achievers are generally recognized for their actions. Generally good benefits are competitive for non-Big-4 firms.

Cons

Long busy season (can run through April or May) even if working primarily on audits. Micro-management is a real problem for some managers as they refuse to move on from previous responsibilities. Pressure to hit budgets but not to exceed project budgets is ridiculous as finding a balance becomes nearly impossible. High achievers are frequently bogged down with work and expected to take on more and more even when it's not realistic. Pay is below-average but also better than a lot of other large, non-Big-4 accounting firms.
