Pros

The firm is a large firm and with that comes many opportunities for employees' growth both intellectually and through the ranks. Many of our partners are thought leaders in their respective fields so the opportunities for learning are many. The firm focuses on their people and provides, as best as a large firm can, a work/life balance. The firm supports its people in their career and personal endeavors.

Cons

Public accounting in general is not an easy career. There are long hours and stressful situations at times; however, if you really enjoy what you do than the negative aspects are not so impactful. The firm has had some "bumps" along the way but in my opinion management has been forthcoming; addressing the matter through open lines of communication. There really are no cons related specifically to ParenteBeard; the saying "the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence" is true.

Stressful, over-worked, and entirely too many chiefs...

Pros

Before getting transferred, saw some of my best friends every day.

Cons

Treated as a number rather than an employee. Budget cuts, no raises, lay-offs, but still shelling out $30,000 sponsorships. Too many "branding" videos, meetings, etc. Having employees read books that are ridiculous time wasters. And the best - the retreats for upper management... How many employees' salaries is that costing?

We are glad to hear you enjoy working with your colleagues and miss seeing them each day. If you have any other thoughts you want to share about the firm, your HR representative is always available to listen.
