Pros

The salary, bonuses, and benefits are competitive in comparison to similar positions in the area. Exchange Traded Funds are growing at a rapid pace and BGI is the leader as far as AUM and the number of products offered to investors. This puts BGI at the top spot as far as ETF providers go and is likely to retain the top spot. So working here is like working for the behemoth of ETF providers, so it does provide a level of satisfaction knowing you are working for an organization who is leading the ETF race. It's also a great place if you'd like to learn in depth about ETF's.

Cons

Employee morale is very low due to poor judgment on managements part. Although the salary and benefits are competitive, it just doesn't outweigh the con's that exist. One slogan heard throughout the organization is "we don't hire assholes" and "speak the truth". Neither of these slogans are practiced throughout the organization from what I have seen. It's tough to figure out what is expected of you, good, hard workers are not rewarded here. And yes, they do hire assholes. So be prepared to be wined and dined in the beginning to sell you on the job, then the reality kicks in and you just stick with it for just a paycheck until you've had enough. It's a job, not a career.

Pros

Only pro for those looking for a phone job is you are only in office once a week.... for now. That will change.

Cons

Senior leadership. Middle leadership. Policies. Lack of direction. Lack of transparency. Antiquated technology. Senior leadership doesn't care for analyst or their development. They will make you switch jobs whether you like it or not. Constant leadership change so constant "reorganizations".

Pros

Good environment, various facilities like cab, which is very important, life insurance, medical insurance, although the amount is not sufficient because looking at the way medical inflation is risen. Company has really strong approach since new Ceo has come into picture C.S. Venkatesh who is great minded person and his present ideology about looking and focusing on non-volatile business is absolutely amazing. First time ever core level employees are included in the vision. Some people leaders are great but in my 8 years with Barclays I have seen most of them micro-managing.

Cons

Biggest flaw is that being British national company they would focus on colleagues in UK first. Company's one of the policies is empower but I believe there is something missing. Taking an example of people working for collections in UK vs. India. UK colleagues will have better defined shifts, but India works different shift. UK colleagues doing the same work have profile defined BA4 but for Indian colleagues BA3 which would mean we would have less access to support the customers even in terms of LOA. I understand about holidays that bank follows obviously British but we in India would still login on British holidays even when there is no work.
