Pros

The people I worked with were great.

Cons

Leadership is clueless. The CEO and his entourage travel the world in private jets while the rest of the company is on travel bans, hiring freezes, laying off employees, and receiving such bad pay increases and bonuses it should be an embarrassment to the company. Baxter let go of entire teams with no backup to do the work and no idea what work was being done. It didn't even matter if you were exceeding expectations and turning in projects with huge savings. All they look at are numbers and you are nothing more than that. The environment leadership creates harbors distrust between employees. Instead of investing in their employees and working to improvement the company, they cut people. People aren't the reason you didn't do well, Baxter. The lack of good leadership coupled with disjointed systems, processes, and the economy were. Trust in your employees to do good work, to know what's going on in the day to day world, and hold on to them until the rough patch is over. Instead they let good people go and replaced them with more leaderships. Three directors and a consulting team were hired to "do" the work our team had already presented.

Sinking Ship

Pros

Great flexibility allowing me to handle kids activities or personal things whenever needed Company supports great causes like Operation Smile

Cons

So much change and uncertainty for the past 2-3 years with no light at the end of the tunnel. Senior leadership doesn't seem to know what they are doing or the impact of many of their decisions. Frequent layoffs and organizational changes. My job is definitely no where near what it was intended to be and I'm essentially told to suck it up for the better of the company. Meanwhile there's a lack of support and acknowledgement of anything from the team. On top of all that I'm below or at the bottom of my market pay range and am regularly told there's no money to do more even though I'm a top performer. Once upon a time I thought I would work here for life - not anymore for sure. Absolutely a sinking ship at this point.

Pros

If you're from Southern India, Southern China, or Malta lots of work comes your way as the company exports jobs to try and boost market valuation. They've recognized that they're not actually taking any risks (now if only they'd do something about it). Care about employee fitness (to keep their insurance lower). Dress for your day policy and some managers allow flex hours

Cons

A Fish Rots at the Head, the CEO & will give directives to management and lay off hundreds and thousands (literally, last "reorganization" resulted in thousands of terminated employees) of people in order to meet cash flow projections. If there is any doubt look at what Joe did to Covidien and what Sumant did to Hospira, their leadership is a calculated ploy to run the Company into the ground and profit on selling the remains. CEO-Joe in a rush to sell off company, beware if you make too much money. Look at Covidien for game plan for future of this company. Management posts false "glowing" reviews on this site, and LinkedIn. No Real Innovation Streams, buying outside corporations and trying to outsource to China and India, Upper Management has the Operational Knowledge and Efficiency of an intoxicated 5yr old. Employee Recognition is Patronizing. Spends far far less on advancing than any of their peers, spends far less on employee satisfaction and advancement than any of their peers. Have to go outside for Career or Pay advancement Management will Lie to your face, and rationalize their shortcomings in front of an audience. Tripping over dollars to pick up pennies.
