Pros

good work life balance and generally respectful organization for the industry. Generally well meaning senior leadership team, although it is of course predominately white men and it shows.

Cons

tons of projects that don't go anywhere. Difficult to assess how your work impacts the overall organization. Difficult to advance in San Francisco with very few leadership positions outside of NY. A lot of internal politics and gossip.

If in the right role (corporate strategy) there is a large breadth of departments and information to continuously learn.

Cons

Every other aspect of the workplace. Highly politicized (read kiss butt to get your bonus or advancement), management is incredibly denigrating, colleagues always trying to take credit for everything they touch.

Salaries and benefits are great. Recognizable name, exciting industry. You will learn a ton.

Cons

Environment is hostile to innovation, especially in the Client Services arena. Directors are abusive bullies who only value being right. New concepts are stifled and process re-engineering is frowned upon. Work-life balance is non-existent. Any attempt to work standard hours or help your family are punished by the "good ol boy" network here. Don't expect a title that is transferable.
