Pros

Some benefits, really cool products built.

Cons

Want a career where you choose your jobs? Not here. There are near constant reorganizations. Want to be promoted? Sorry, also not the place for you unless you are right out of college. Salary increase? Oops, that only comes with promotions. Same manager who wants to help you achieve your career development? Sorry, you'll go through an average of one new manager every 6-8 months. In the past 10 years, either health insurance premiums have either gone up, or the benefits covered were reduced. Save yourself the trouble. The only thing "cutting edge" about Boeing is the ingrained level of taking advantage of employees while simultaneously making you grateful you survived**this** round of layoffs. "One Boeing" doesn't exist...Your pay and benefits vary by which of the 80+ unions, or locations, or business units you support. Even though the merit rating scale includes a "far exceeds" it is so mythical that no one I have met (including those working two levels above what they are hired as) has achieved one.

Pros

- Work on bleeding edge technology - Very meaningful work. The job comes with a lot of responsibility. Whether in the commercial or defense sector, people's lives are in your hands. That's something I take very seriously and use as motivation. - I've always had great bosses, laid back work atmosphere, have gotten along with almost all my coworkers - You'll work with a lot of smart people - Boeing is huge, so there's _always_ something new to work on, all over the US and world, if you're looking for an internal change. - PTO seems generous. You earn more at a faster rate as you become tenured.

Cons

- From what I understand, at least for software engineers, the base-pay compensation is lower than industry average (as of spring 2022). Boeing even admits this. Changes may be coming this year to correct that. They've also recently began offering RSUs to close the gap. - Boeing is huge, so there's a lot of red tape, lots of bureaucracy. This is also something they're aware of and are striving to be more agile.

Pros

Desperate for people Stable enough to sign your paycheck

Cons

Low wages Low raises Quick to cut bonuses and benefits Chronic understaffing A lot of false talking to "safety" and "quality," any improvement to safety or quality that impacts budget or schedule is not of interest Priority is stock price always No repercussions to genuine homophobic/racist behavior because they can't afford to lose the heads Gutted the middle levels and is now losing the upper levels leaving a massive knowledge gap looming
