If you work in certain teams it can be a good rewarding experience but if you are in certain others it is a grind.

Pros

Benefits and pay are comparatively good and the work load is varied. You are given a lot of responsibility very quickly.

Cons

Lots of politics and the pressure to conform to the senior management expectation of giving your whole life in service to the company means little to no work/life balance. Saw many colleagues become 'sick' with stress while working there.

Pros

diverse products, interesting industry, global presence, strong focus on environmental responsibility, great career advancement opportunities if you are willing to get your hands dirty and work your way up

Cons

Management has been slow in adapting organization to be better positioned when the economy improves. Aquisition of Rinker Materials in 2007 created too much debt and cultural clashes. Certain members of the management team make decisions based on emotional attachments not sound business principals. Benefits are excellent but expensive.
