Pros

Camaraderie with co-workers. Observed holidays inclusive of Veterans Day and day after Thanksgiving.

Cons

Founder has lost touch with the worker bee. There is little to no organic growth, however the companies growth comes from consuming small IT companies around the globe. It's an IT company that doesn't stay utilize updated software for itself. Stock prices are only going up because the employee is buying stock. Worker bees are terminated after 3 weeks if management are unable to negotiate them another project. There's an expectation that when the project ends, the worker bee should want to move to another location for the next project.

Pros

None. There are no pros.

Cons

They will lie to your face so they can pay you as less as possible. If you're consider going to CGI ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS negotiate higher than what they are offering. You'll be put on understaffed projects. If you know how to do the work then you gain all of the responsibility and blame if you the project fails. The person they keep around somehow and can't do anything will be ignored. They will only train you through cheap or free online tutorials and throw you face first into a project. Hired to be a budget analyst? Well I hope you can learn how to build an app server with JBOSS in three weeks. They won't give you what you need to succeed. Their infrastructure are far below par. You have to wait months for what you need and then get blamed for not doing 3 months of work in 5 days. Look to the person to your left. Now look to the person to your right. One of them will leave CGI in 6 months time because better companies pay more for better talent. One of them, you'll have to pick up the slack for because he or she don't know how to do the work.

Pros

offered more salary than i asked for pays the bills

Cons

I was in the office at Markham, Ontario in the financial services division. in the 16 months that I was there I had 5 bosses change. the place is literally a revolving door, every 4 to 6 months there was a round of layoffs and people were always scared, people who avoided the knife had no loyalty to the place because they knew they are dispensable. way too much leg pulling. I have NEVER seen this much politics at any other place i have worked at. extremely pressure: every two months of work, i had one month of over time accumulated. no support: I was doing the job of a senior manager with the title of a team lead, commanding 30 people in total. With any issue in which i needed help from above, i would be left alone to deal with it. In the team in india women were paid less than the men, even when they performed better. I raised this to my boss and he just shrugged "this happens sometimes in business" is what he said and "we cannot control what the indian division pays their employees" (which may be true, but the indifference was heartbreaking) only join this place if you have no other option. and leave as soon as you can or they will just end up letting you go.
