Pros

Eh... very difficult to find anything nice to say

Cons

Atrocious management, senior and lower level. After a 'merger' (takeover) many issues arose as established CGI staff were clearly favoured for promotions ahead of clearly more technical and able people. Constant mismanagement of projects, Project Managers leaving in droves to be replaced by overpaid, underprepared robots most of whom didn't have any experience of working in a technical IT environment. Repeated attempts at "being heard" impossible due to stubborn middle management, constantly overruling highly technical people with the essential local knowledge. Morale of the teams I was involved with dropped off the cliff.

Pros

Onboarding HR is so good. Ontime salary average hike, bonus Full of engagement with projects

Cons

Worst Managers they have. Don't know how to treat reportees. 1.5 year cycle for 1st hike if joining after July. No promotion even after 4 years. Self paid team lunches, outing, Bad. Paid transport Yemlur campus is too old, lot of dengue mosquitoes Exit HR team is bad but good to fold settlement papers into 3 folds for sending in small envelope. Not sure if they do in similar way for VPs also.

Pros

The people I worked with I truly loved.

Cons

MY WORST CAREER MOVE. I was over 100% billable for the last 18 months, and both clients consulting work ended within 2 weeks of each other. This led to a 6 week break from being billable, which is when I learned CGI has a 3 week allowance for being “on-the-bench,” as we say in consulting. 3 weeks hit and I was let go, which is fine. This was the worst career move because they tied my severance to a one year non compete with any of their clients, which essentially makes me unemployed for 12 months in the industry my background is in. CLASSLESS, yet I see them getting recognized as a great company to work for. Be careful joining this company.
