Pros

Insurance on day 1, sick leave doesn't come out of employee "bank", unlimited sick leave available that company pays for... but beware, requires a doctor's note in order to use sick pay even if just out one day, or you have to use your PTO (still get occurrence), flex time, don't need a degree.

Cons

Not allowed to make up work hours, mandatory 8 hours overtime (even if took vacation day off or out sick, must still work the extra hours) every week pretty much since day one, training terrible, effective communication even worse, fellow employees act like they're 5 years old, animosity could be cut with a knife, no truly feeling valued at this job, terrible favoritism, no room for career advancement locally, hardly anyone has a degree, no drug testing and not much for a background check, people walking around with piercings from head to toes, tattoos also, rainbow bright multi-colored teenage colored hair on all, even grandmas... none of which is required to be covered. No professionalism at all from much of immediate leadership and some local management.

Pros

Not many....but will list below: 1.) Flexible with the ability to work remote 2.) Good company to kick start your career, but get out after 2-3 years 3.) SPP

Cons

Oh so many to list, but here goes: 1.) Would rather hire someone for less pay and have them work over 40 without decent pay raises. 2.) Poor management. They do not listen to your opinion. Clear example of the current generation gap going on right now. The company doesn't recognize growing trends in your everyday working American citizen. Their competitors like Workday (now Accenture), Deloitte and PWC will eventually push the Canadian company out. 3.) No career development. It's like a free for all and will place you in just about any billable position regardless of skill just because it's business and all they care about is the bottom line. Don't worry, this will eventually backfire on them. 4.) No training. Scrum training? Project Management certificates? They just don't do any of this for some reason. Big fail here. 5.) Does not follow laws like OSHA. For example, I had to work on a client site for several weekends without the air conditioning on in the building. One person on my team fainted due to the heat. Very unsafe working condition. 6.) Additionally, they expect you to make up for the time you spent flying to and from the client site and will not allow you to record those hours as worked. If i recall, this is a violation as stated on the U.S Department of Labor website. Thanks. 7.) No time for management to mentor their employee's.

Pros

CGI has a fantastic history of growth, well established framework (management foundation) and on paper a huge set of offerings.

Cons

CGI has more or only focus on internal metrics. CGI is managed by structure, metrics and fear, instead of empowerment and goals. I am afraid that unless something change CGI will be a has been, instead of capitalizing on what they could be. You spend more time reporting and internal meetings, instead of innovation and time with the customer.
