The Wooly Public in the base of the iconic Woolworth Building, is another major “pro” when it comes to convenience and the privilege of a great location. We do appreciate your honesty when it comes to your assessment of our culture being 'very conservative.' It seems that your short tenure with CallisonRTKL may not have afforded you the opportunity to appreciate the investment we make in our people, their paths and career opportunities. We believe we are only as strong as our people and as such, we offer great benefits, competitive salaries, paid professional opportunities for development, mobility and an array of fun activities, such as Cycle for Survival and CANstruction that invest in our people and our communities. Pros

Some interesting projects, team dependent but lots in the LA market, which is good. Work-life balance is excellent, people are friendly.

Cons

Pay is significantly less than competitors and has been for quite a while, staff retention will start to become a major issue. This is probably down to being owned by a larger construction firm (Arcadis)

Thank you for your feedback; we appreciate it. Glad that you enjoy the project work and teamwork. Many opportunities for great work are available in LA and other offices. When it comes to pay, CallisonRTKL works independently from Arcadis and we do use lots of different sources of information related to our very own industry. However, pay schemes are complex and influenced by many factors, including professional degrees, experience, credentials, expertise, etc. Pay does not play in staff retention as we are competitive at many levels but we can appreciate that in a hot and competitive market, such as LA's, the perception of low pay at CallisonRTKL is possible. We are looking to provide employees more transparency around the compensation process, which may help provide better information in this area.

The company is very organised, and have all procedures clearly mapped out. The Dubai management is great and the team is talented and ambitious.

Cons

The projects are of a commercial nature and which often means not the highest standard so don’t expect to develop amazing innovative designs.
