Pros

*Fantastic opportunities to grow *Nature of the Job I enjoyed * People in the wider business were friendly and supportive and recognised my hard work resulting in promotion. *Great company ethics * Fantastic employee benefits & Pension Scheme * Great employee incentives * Regular meetings with the wider business and opportunities to network * Opportunities to train and mentor others * Good office facilities

Cons

* High turnover of staff during the 5 years I was employed there due to the poor working environment and attitude of management. This directly contributed to gossip, office politics and areas of the team being understaffed regularly. * Due to stress at work I suffered poor mental health which further deteriorated and led to other mental health concerns. When no support was given to me when i asked for it, I was actually given more work and told to just get on with it! This led to me having a breakdown and having to take extended time off work resulting in my resignation. * In order to feel that i could go back to work from being on LTS, I had a relaxed discussion with management where my concerns were raised. I needed to know that I would not be treated like that again and would need to feel supported by my team, and in response to this management was dismissive and would not take any responsibility for knowingly making things more difficult for me when I was asking for help. I felt i had no alternative but to resign. * The HR department dealing with my LTS and RTW processes were well organised but were not able to take the necessary actions to resolve the situation I was in.

Pros

Nothing. Never join this rut.

Cons

No hike or promotion. It takes 10 years to get promoted from manager to senior manager. No deal wins as they concentrate on acquisitions. People retire in the grade they join. No money spent on training employees. Billions of dollars is spent on making useless as acquisitions so company does not have money to give hikes. It is the only IT company in the world to have Billions of dollars as debt on its balance sheet. No growth in revenue and profit for the last several decades. Hikes are a measly 1or2%. You need to service complete notice period even on bench. Most discriminatory variable pay policy in the world. If you go to onsite your designation will come down by 2 levels. Managers are very abusive. Keep on shouting like nuts.

Pros

honestly, only pros is, its a job and will pay your bills. However, only join if you dont have other options.

Cons

1. Middle management's relations with the clients are strained beyond repair. Clients do not like them and just want to get rid of them. Many hardworking employees get into this cross-fire and suffer 2. Offshore teams are filled with fresher resources. Only leads and managers are >5 years of experience. Rest of the team who actually works at the grass-root level is <2 years old. This will result in daily friction between onsite and offshore team. Many onsite folks end up doing work for the whole team and do not get enough sleep at night 3. The employee who works is consistently piled up with huge workloads. If other employees do not fill their time-sheets on time, its this employee problem. He/She has to follow up like anything to get everyone's time-sheets 4. And even after this, hard working employees are not rewarded with a good hike. After you get the hike and you are not happy, you have to meet you manager who has no power to increase your salary. So they ask you to meet their boss, who asks you to meet their boss. This goes on till Director and VPs and you realize even they do not have any power to increase your salary. I mean what the hell! What are you doing guys? Should we have to go to the CEO for a 5% hike now? 5. In Canada, apart from RBC, they do no have any other major client and they have screwed up their relationship with RBC big time. They will loose RBC very soon and most employees have realized that are fleeing Capgemini 6. As I said, they do not have enough projects here. But what's insane is - a person who is a Canadian citizen/permanent resident, gets an email tell them to prepare to travel back to India as their assignment is getting over. Seriously?
