Pros

Capital One Bank is a company with a lot of potential for career growth if you go along to get along.

Cons

Yes men are more appreciated than creative thinkers. They don't slam down creative thinkers but it isn't encouraged either. Just tote the line to get ahead.

Pros

Smart, motivated coworkers and lots of recognition/praise for a job well done. Intelligent and smart leadership, generally making good decisions. Great benefits (vacation, flex time, work from home - sometimes). Great facilities. Interesting work. Great training classes.

Cons

Too much work - many at the Manager + level work 55-65 hours a week. They say they support working from home, but typically only on Fridays. Too many meetings where phone calls/emails/IM could suffice. Too many meetings mean not enough time for work. Performance management process intense and cumbersome; too complex. Expect that once you get in, you'll be at that level for 3-5 years - hard to get promoted. Not as many options for promotion/advancement as you think unless you are Sr Mgr+ and are willing to leave your line of business.
